Tomorrow, 04 December 2018, 2:30 - 3:30pm, the Faculty Enhancement & Development Program Committee will be conducting a workshop entitled Turnitin Plagiarism Software at the Computer Laboratory of Public Health, Ground Floor, Rm. 303 (next to the COP entrance door near the parking area).

 

The speaker will discuss the benefits and features of safe assignment with this anti-plagiarism software including its services.

Today, 12 Nov. 2018, 1:00 - 3:00pm, the Faculty Enhancement & Development Program Committee will be having a workshop entitled Accreditation Mock Survey at the Debriefing Classroom, 1st Floor, College of Pharmacy Building.

The New Committee of the Faculty Development and Enhancement Program will be conducting a workshop today, 07 November 2018, 13:00 - 15:00pm with Dr. Jawaher Al Gramish, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice Department at Debriefing Classroom of College Of Pharmacy.

 

The objectives of this workshop are the following:

1. Understanding the goals of SPLE

2. Getting familiarized with SPLE blueprint and competency areas

3. Understanding the good practice guideline in wiring MCQs for SPLE

4. Discussing the college strategy to prepare the students for SPLE

Today, 20 March 2018, 13:00pm to 15:00pm at Debriefing Classroom of College of Pharmacy Bldg.. Prof. Amjad Qandil and Dr. Mai Al Ajaji will be conducting a workshop that will discuss NCAAA Course and Field Experience; how to complete the course reports properly.

The Faculty Development & Enhancement Program Committee will be handling a workshop today, 08 March 2018, 13:00pm to 15:00pm at Debriefing Classroom of College of Pharmacy Bldg.. This workshop will discuss the Eligibility Requirements for Program Accreditation to be conducted by Dr. Abdulkareem Al Bekairy, Dean, College Of Pharmacy and Prof. Amjad Qandil, Chairman, QAAA Unit & Pharmaceutical Sciences of College Of Pharmacy.

Today, Sunday, 18 Feb. 2018, 13:00 - 15:00pm, we will be having a workshop entitled "Quality in Academia" to be conducted by Prof. Amjad Qandil. 

 

Learning Outcomes will be the following:

•Define the concept of ”Quality in Higher Education”
•Discuss the importance of Quality in education
•Discuss the driving force(s) for quality assurance in education
•Discuss the Factors that can threaten Quality
•Discuss the External assessment of the teaching quality

AY - 2017

 

Blue Print - Psychometric Analysis tomorrow, 14 March 2017, 1:00 - 3:00PM at Debriefing Classroom of College Of Pharmacy.

 

This program program workshop is to design a blue print based on course learning outcome and other parameters. It will enable the participants to conduct a post-hoc analysis to rationalize, justify, and explain using common indicators.

The Faculty Development & Enhancement Committee of College of Pharmacy conducted a program workshop on 22 February 2017 at Debriefing Classroom, 1st floor. This "Effective Manuscript Writing for Publication" enable the participants to:

 

1. To identify the main components of  manuscript. 

2. Use the standard checklist for manuscript preparation based on the study design.  

3. Effectively write all the sections of manuscript. 

4. Identify the Do's and Don'ts of manuscript writing.

The Faculty Enhancement Committee will be conducting a workshop tomorrow, Wednesday, 25th of January 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00PM. 

 

Aim:

The aim of this session is to explain the different sections of the KAIMRC Research Proposal and to discuss ways to improve the preparation of the research proposal.

 

Objectives:

  • To identify the importance of a good research proposal for the research study and preparation of the final manuscript
  • To identify the different sections that need to be completed for the research proposal
  • To discuss the common problems faced in preparation of the research proposal and how to overcome them

 

Expected Outcome:

The participants should be able to understand the requirements for filling out the different sections of the KAIMRC Research Proposal and avoid the main problems commonly encountered, in order to submit a research proposal for approval from the KAIMRC and IRB.

AY - 2016

  

20 December 2016, 13:00 - 15:00PM at Debriefing Classroom of College of Pharmacy, Prof Mohi and Dr. Abdulrahman shared their experiences and knowledge on Flipped learning. This new method of teaching is gaining a lot of attraction in higher education as it moves the responsibility of learning from the shoulder of the teacher to the student. Furthermore, this approach incorporates various methodologies in one session.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To orient participants on resent advances on flipping class room.
2. To give them hand-on experience on how to apply flipping the classroom.
3. To outline challenges and opportunities for applying flipping the classroom in our situation.

27 November 2016, 13:00 - 15:00PM, FEC conducted a workshop entitled "Qualitative Research" at Debriefing Classroom, 1st floor of College Of Pharmacy Bldg., KSAU-HS. This event will be facilitated by the Faculty Enhancement Committee.

On this workshop, participants will learn about the following:
1) Nature of scientific inquiry
2) Philosophical underpinning of qualitative research
3) Different research designs
4) Data collection methods

03 April 2016, 13:00 to 15:00PM at Debriefing Classroom, the FEC conducted a workshop again. The speaker's objectives will enable the participants to know the following:

 

1- Plan and write an objective structured clinical examination using automated OSCE system

2- Evaluate and compair level of students according to their OSCE performance

3- Understand and evaluate examiner through all OSCE stations

4- Give a clear feedback to the students regarding their performance

 


 

Using Technology to Enhance Teaching and Learning: Exploring Smart Phones Workshop,  Sunday, 20th of March 2016, 1:00 - 3:00PM, 1st floor, Debriefing Classroom of College of Pharmacy Building.

 

*To enhance teaching and learning, Dr. Mai Al Ajaji will be introducing different ways on how to use & explore smart phones with the latest technology the industry has.

 


 

 

04 February 2016, the Faculty Development and Enhancement Program Committee hosted a Workshop conducted by one of our Visiting Professors, Prof. John Murphy from University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy at 1:00 - 3:00PM, 1st floor, Debriefing Classroom of College of Pharmacy Building. 

 

The General Learning Objectives of this workshop are the ff:

1.) Describe briefly various types of student projects
2.) Discuss issues that make the projects of value to:
•The faculty mentor and institution
•The student
3.) Examine issues and provide suggestions to enhance projects getting presented and published

 


 

24 January 2016, the Faculty Development and Enhancement Program Committee hosted a workshop entitled "Tips in Writing Research Proposal" held in Debriefing Classroom, 1st floor, College Of Pharmacy Building.

 

General Learning Objectives

The main objective of this workshop is to give general background about research proposal writing and to provide the audience with tips on how to submit their research proposal.

 

At the end of the course, the participants should be able to:

1.) Understand the different parts of the research proposal form

2.) Write efficient goals and objectives  for their research projects

3.) Design the appropriate case report form for the research projects
