History

King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences was established by Royal Decree No. 3-B-53278, dated January 1, 2004 (9 Dhu Al Qadih 1424) issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. It was founded in response to the need for health education in the Kingdom: while the demand for health-related services remains high, Saudi nationals comprise less than 20% of workers in the healthcare sector.

 

College of Pharmacy 

The College of Pharmacy at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences was established by virtue of a decision issued by the University Council in its first session of the academic year 1427/1428 corresponding to 2006/2007 held on Dhu Al Qadah 28, 1427 corresponding to December 19, 2006. The establishment of the College of Pharmacy was approved by the Council of Higher Education number 45 on May 02, 2007.

 

In September 2012, the College of Pharmacy opened its doors to the inaugural students. The College aims to accommodate 150 male students annually.

In August 2015, the College of Pharmacy administration expand further to accommodate Female Students. So, to make room for more students, they opened a new branch - "the College of Pharmacy - Female Branch" to openly produce female pharmacists.
